Mac

  1. Download and install the latest HDHomeRun Mac software from downloads
  2. Determine the correct modulation any symbol rates needed for use with your cable provider. The following modulation types are supported: QAM256, QAM128, QAM64.
    All symbol rates are supported.
The HDHomeRun uses the following format:
    a8qam<256|128|64>-(rate)
    For example: a8qam256-6900 or a8qam64-6875
  3. Open a Terminal window, and set the correct modulations using hdhomerun_config.
    Syntax:
    hdhomerun_config <deviceid> set /sys/dvbc_modulation "<modulation1> <modulation2> <modulation3>"

    Example:
    hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF set /sys/dvbc_modulation "a8qam64-6875 a8qam64-6900 a8qam256-6900"

If you have multiple HDHomeRun units, substitute the device ID in place of FFFFFFFF. A maximum of 3 different modulations are supported.

Linux

  1. If you have not already done so, download the latest HDHomeRun firmware from Linux Downloads. Install the firmware on your HDHomeRun using either the Upgrade tab in HDHomeRun Config GUI, or using the hdhomerun_config command line:
