I went to a Verizon store today to see about switching to FIOS. I was told they don't provide cablecards anymore but, I could still use a modern Tivo box without a cablecard. It sounded fishy to me but, some quick Googling showed that Tivo Edge and Roamio can work without cablecard. Something to to ...

I have Spectrum in New York and i've been using WMC on a windows 7 pc as my DVR. I found out the hard way that the Playready drm is a pain in the ass but I'm just gonna bite the bullet on that.
