HDHomeRun Config GUI + VLC

Software Installation

Download and install the latest HDHomeRun software from downloads.

Using HDHomeRun Config:

Run "HDHomeRun Config (GUI)" from the start menu.

Digital Antenna

• US/Canada: Select "us-bcast" in the first channel box.
  
• Europe/NZ: Select "eu-bcast" in the first channel box.
  
• Australia: Select "au-bcast" in the first channel box.
  
• Taiwan: Select "tw-bcast" in the first channel box.
  

Digital Cable

• US/Canada: Select "us-cable" in the first channel box.
  
• Europe/NZ: Select "eu-cable" in the first channel box.
  
• Australia: Select "au-cable" in the first channel box.
  
• Taiwan: Select "tw-cable" in the first channel box.
  

Use channel up/down buttons to find a channel with signal.
Digital cable channels usually start above 70 or above 100.

Select a TV station from the program list.

Press the "Launch VLC button" to view the channel.

Troubleshooting

Black or red screen in VLC

The default video module device chosen by some versions of VLC may result in a black screen when attempting to play a video stream. Upgrade to a newer release of VLC or run VLC and go into Settings, Preferences, Video, Output modules, click "Advanced options", and then choose an alternative video output module.
