I guess it depends on the number of HD channels that you have. I had hoped that the iPad 3 would be able to decode HD, but the CPU speed was not bumped.
And since this is decoding in SW, it seems to be all that the HW is capable of, at the moment.

Hi Jacob, as promised i bought your tvstreamer app as my way of saying thanks for the beta testing and for creating a really great app that makes use of my hdhomerun prime without a pc. Hopefully you make more updates to this and also hoping this can be adopted to apple tv as well.

Jacob - is your app supposed to work with cable (clear-QAM) channels?

I purchased the app. It detects 4 idle HDHR tuners, and I can run a channel scan for "US-bcast". None are found (as expected) because I don't have OTA/antenna hooked up.

Then I change the Channel map to "US-cable" and scan, it gives an error:

HDHomeRun error
A communication error occured with the HDHomeRun device. Please check the wireless signal strength and try again.

Same problem if I choose "US-hrc" or "US-irc". I do receive dozens of clear-QAM cable channels that work fine with these HDHRs when using a PC.

My wireless signal strength is fine - and of course this error didn't occure with "US-bcast".

Suggestions? Is this supposed to work with cable, or just OTA?

Hi.

It is supposed to work with cable channels. But I have had a few reports, exactly like yours, so there does seem to be an error somewhere.
I am currently looking into this.

Can you tell me if the error message comes immediately when the scan starts, or after a while? And in that case - at what frequency?

I am sorry about the problem and will work hard to issue a fix as quickly as possible.

Would you do me a favor? Could you send me the output of a channel scan of the tuner?

Something like this:
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF scan /tuner0 >scan.txt

And then please send me the scan.txt file.
