No audio in QuickTV on Windows 7

Postby jasonl » Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:09 pm

Symptom: Video plays in QuickTV but no sound when running on Windows 7.

Solutions:
1) Use a digital sound device with Dolby Digital support. For example, use HDMI for sound (with Dolby Digital support), or use an RCA/optical cable to feed a Dolby Digital receiver.

or
2) Use Windows Media Player for viewing. Run HDHomeRun Setup and set the Preview application to Windows Media Player. The view buttons in HDHomeRun Setup and HDHomeRun Config GUI will now use Windows Media Player.

or
3) Install a licensed AC3 codec suitable for use with Windows Media Player
(HDHomeRun QuickTV uses Windows Media Player to display TV).
