Quick feedback on Sony BDP-S580/S480

Able to watch unprotected content, no support for DTCP-IP currently as unable to receive premium channels. Take 15-20 seconds for a channel to start.

Definitely having issues with rendering on HD content where there's a lot of pixelation. Using PowerLine networking (think it says about 120Mbps, which currently works fine with MythTV both as a front-end and DLNA. Only issue that I'm having is with a DLink DHP-1565, which seems to block multicast traffic in AP mode.

So some clarification after the update, 20130226beta1, now that I can watch HD channels pretty well as I was on a powerline based network. It appears that only over the air channels work with this device. I can see the other channels however it returns a error message when I try to tune to even basic cable channels. I haven't had a chance to turn on wireshark or anything yet to see what's going on.

Do upgrade to the latest beta! You also may want to see if Sony has updated the firmware on the device.

Could you please describe your dlna interface and what you do to access a tuner list. Do you see a Cable TV and a Premium TV file?

With Comcast you should get all of your subscribed channels with the exception of the premium channels in the Cable TV file.
