Vizio TV not seeing HDHomerun

Postby banders5144 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 11:03 am

I can see it on all other devices and I can see other devices showing up on my tv. Is there some sort of diagnostic tool I can use to test my tv or find out why it wouldnt be showing up?

Here is my ID just incase:

131108EE

Thanks.

In looking over the manuals and spec's at vizio I do not believe this TV is DLNA certified. You do have an app bar called V.I.A. Dock it may be that at sometime an app might be able to be placed on it but that may depend on Vizio [not sure]. You could look there and see if there is any reference to the HDHR DMS. There have been a few reports of that happening on other TVs but they were DLNA compliant and showed up in a DLNA list too. I do not believe any app reference has opened a channel but the channel list was given.

Both the manual and website indicate DLNA is supported. And more to the point I can see and use files from PCs that have media connect running on them.

The other DLNA servers (PCs) can be seen through the Media App but the HDHR does not show up. There are very few settings available on the TV to influence it.

I do see that Vizio has not Certified any devices?? Guess that doesn't stop them from claiming they support it.

Maybe the manual I found deals with a different model year http://store.vizio.com/documents/downlo ... 601iA3.pdf

Lots of companies support the DLNA project; Sony proposed the project and supports it but does not make all of its products compliant.

I know for a fact that my TV does support DLNA, i have other devices (NAS, Media Server, etc.) that can be seen by my tv. My only question is how to determine if my tv does or does not support DTCP. Is there a diagnostic tool to test this out?
