DLNA Heavy Pixelation After Re-enroll success

Postby jdkrp » Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:25 am

After initially getting the registration error, I was able to re-enroll this morning, rebooted, rescanned, ran setup, and DLNA is enabled. WMC and QuickTV still work fine using the regular tuners. However, I get varying degrees of heavy pixelation and stuttering using XBMC, VLC, and Win Media Player on all my PC's using DLNA, especially on HD channels.

Is there anything I can do to improve the performance? Would there be any benefit to re-installing the firmware since my initial installation was done before I was enrolled?

I'm also seeing some heavy pixelation on HD channels, especially when the picture is fast-moving (and bandwidth goes up because of that). My ethernet is a gigabit so it's not a network congestion issue. WMC never had this issue.

After checking a few things (in a separate post) XBMC is working okay with HD on my wired ethernet connection. The only problem is that PC is an old P4 and XBMC hits 100% CPU utilization and causes glitches. Using the tuners directly works better on this PC as the CPU stays below ~80%.
