I've got a SMP-N100, and after fighting a firewall issue got the firmware updated.
To anyone with Sony experience, what web address and ports do Sony use to determine if their boxes are 'connected to the internet'. In my own home network my N100 box refuses to admit it's got internet connectivity even when it can play youtube videos? anyway:
Running firmware M05.R.084
Updated from M05.R.075 and the following was true of both firmwares:
HDHomerun Prime shows up fine "HDHomeRun Live DMS"
Channels come up as streams, and those channels listed under "Cable TV", even the HD ones work fine...
It throws a "There is no playable File." error when you select "Premium Cable TV", not even displaying the channel list.
Video is smooth and clear with the wired connection, however it's choppy, artifact ridden, and generally difficult to watch when joined to the wireless of a WRT54GS 1.1 loaded with DD-WRT with excellent signal. I Have not tried my Asus N10+ yet.
For full disclosure:
Firmware on SMP-N100: M05.R.084
Firmware on HDHR Prime: 20130125beta1
HDHR Prime Model: HDHomeRun Prime HDHR3-CC
Netgear JGS510 gigabit 16 port network switch
Smoothwall Express 2.0 firewall/server (oldie but goodie and if it ever dies I'll upgrade it), UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) support enabled.
