No Channels

Postby JohnGalt » Fri Jan 18, 2013 5:06 am

Just downloaded and followed the instructions and rebooted after everything was done. A channel scan was completed and appears to work fine in QuickTV.

However browsing the DMS shows folders for CableTV and Premium Cable TV and nothing is in either folder for me to browse to.

Windows Media Player sees the deivce but lists the standard Music/videos/pictures/recording tv and not the folders and none of those folders have any content.

What am I doing wrong?

(Edit: Yes I did activate both device ids from the web pages for each of the Homerun Prime 6 that I have)

I'm seeing the same thing. VLC can see the first 163 channels, but the DLNA client on my Panasonic TC-P42ST30 doesn't see any of the channels in either of the channel lists.

I now have it listing channels. They started coming in finally. They also play in WMP.

I would LOVE a code sample for playing one of the channels in Windows 8 Apps. If I could get that from Silicon Dust I would build a full TV app with Guide for Windows 8 for it.

Did you reboot the HDHR after performing the upgrade and registering it for the beta?

Apparently it takes quite a while to validate and get the settings. Wait a while, It may start coming in.

Run HDHomeRun Config GUI and go to the device webpage, Channel Lineup page... check you see the list of channels. If not, click "Detect Channels".

Some DLNA clients will not display media items they do not support. If your DLNA client does not support MPEG2 (MPEG_TS_NA_ISO) then it may not display any channels in the channel list.

I feel pretty dumb for asking but how do you get to the web page from HDHomeRun Config?

I looked up the IP address and got to the tuner that way but everyone says it launches directly from HDHomeRun Config.

Download and install the latest beta software (currently 20130117beta1):

The launch HDHomeRun Gonfig GUI from the start menu.

Hit the rescan button at the bottom of the device window and it should display any HDHR tuners.
