Sony BDP-S370

Postby joshavan » Thu Jan 17, 2013 9:50 pm

I have a Sony BDP-S370, and I can not get this working. It will not automatically find the Prime. I did a diagnostic and the BDP-S370 says ("the server does not support dlna"). Am I missing step.

1. Download install new firmware.
2. Detect channels
3. Find server on the dlna device

I use a Linksys E3200. Could this be the issue, I can not find anything about whether this will support dlna

The "live DMS" is the one you need to try to access the prime through... If you want to try and eliminate the router or switch to see if they may be an issue plug the prime's Ethernet directly to the TV.

Evidently the (AUTO-MIDX) wont work connecting it to a bluray player. It must need to use a pc.

So it can see the live DMS but it fails to connect to it.

Has anyone mess around with a router firewall or port forwarding to get this working.

I apologize your using the blu-ray as the receiver/tuner. You should plug the prime directly to the blu-ray as a test of network issues between the two devices.

I don't think you can plug directly into bluray player. I tried it and networking light just kept blinking.

Found an info page on Sony blu-ray drives [don't ask where I lost it but still had the list I had made a week or two ago]. Current S390 model is not DLNA but the S590 and S 790 are along with SMPN-200 so it is possible this one does not have DLNA in it.

Have plugged the prime directly to my Samsung TV and the prime gets a solid network led so thought it might be worth a shot.

Ok update time.

I got streaming DLNA to work on my BDP-S370 from my computer. I have to remove the windows firewall, before I removed it the player would give me the same issues as the prime was having. So there is something in the prime that is not allowing the bluray player to access it.

Here are some pictures off the error codes. One with the LIVE DMS and the other on the standard prime tuner which i know is not what I need but figured I would show that code as well.

LIVE DMS (same error code on windows before I removed the firewall.

Prime Tuner (i know this will not work but you can see its looking for dlna)

Nothing should work in the Premium Folder. That should be for devices that support DTCP-IP only I believe.
