Did you reboot the PS3 after installing DTCP-IP, and reboot the HDHR after updating the HDHR and enrolling your HDHR in the beta? If you don't reboot the HDHR after enrolling, you'll get "no channels" or something like that.

I would think that this would be the expected behavior. Powerline isn't that great a connection, and there's pretty much no way it'll work over wifi at the moment. I can't stream HDHR to my PC using 40mhz (wide) 802.11n, which is rated at 450mbps, with the access point only maybe 12 feet from the PC, so trying to use the PS3's narrow band G isn't going to work.

I initially had that problem (no channels past 11). Make sure you reboot your PS3 and reboot your HDHR (I did a physical power cable pull).

On your suggestion, I tried it again. After one more power cable pull on the HDHR, they all appear. And right now things are looking great on the PS3. :)

Same process for me. A total of 3 reboots of the HDHR as well as the PS3 and all is good. The picture is solid with no pixelation (a Gigabit wired connection can't hurt!).

Thanks!

Working great on my PS3 via Ethernet.

However, after streaming for a certain amount of time I am getting the following error:
This content cannot be played (80028801)

While I can't comment on Powerline, you should be able to stream over 802.11n with no issues whatsoever. I tested the new beta with an HTPC, PS3 and WDTV Live all streaming HD channels simultaneously and connected to an 802.11n (5ghz band) wireless bridge with no issues (and this is with a 300mbps max connection via a wifi bridge, which reduces data throughput compared to a direct Wifi adapter to router connection). The signal is passing through several walls and the distance between the wireless bridge and the router is approximately 50ft. The data stream with all 3 tuners sending the HD channel was 4.5MB/s on average with a peak of 6.5MB/s.

If you are having problems over 802.11n, it may be that you're in a congested area and are using the 2.4GHz band. If you use the 5GHz band, it should resolve your issue (alas, your router/adapter/bridge has to support the 5GHz band). From personal experience, I simply can't use the 2.4GHz band where my htpc is located. It's too congested and I can't reliably stream a single channel where the bridge is located. File transfers on the 2.4GHz band are ~2.5MB/s with plenty of volatility while on the 5GHz band I get 9-12MB/s with high consistency.

Distance can also be an issue. I have an xbox connected to the router on the 2.4GHz band in a different room with a distance between the 2 of about 20ft and have no issues streaming HD or SD. In sharp contrast, the WDTV Live in the same location as the Xbox won't stream a single channel (SD or HD). However, the WDTV Live had no problems streaming SD or HD when connected to the bridge in the other room (50ft away from the router).

Hardware:
Router: Asus RT-N56U (300Mbps max per band)
Bridge: Asus EA-N66 (450Mbps max per band but limited by the router)
Switch (allowing the bridge to connect to multiple devices): Rosewill Gigabit 4-port switch

Yeah my PS3 should be able to handle the HD side easily with our powerline adapter. The Xbox does fine on powerline in the room right down the hallway as an HD extender and for recorded shows. Full bars on network signal via the Xbox tuning section 95% of the time. My guess is that it's a codec problem as I see many others are having similar issues. I am going to switch that powerline to a laptop and measure what speedtest says about the line speed.

When you originally registered did you get an error? Then you tried again and it said "this product has been registered"? If so, do it again or until you see that you registered successfully.

You do have to enable DTCP-IP on the PS3 in Settings. Check that you also have the latest update for the PS3. Other than that, the HD icon should appear in your Video folder.

Registration Complete

I got the registration complete & still have nothing. Can anybody put a image or a link to an image that will show me what I'm expecting to see? Also, could a setting in my PS3 need to be changed. I know originally there was something about how to enable DTCP-IP

Ok, new confirmation tonight and restarted everything & went back through the config & now see my channels. Hopefully I have everything all squared away.

Fixed this myself.... Rebooted Prime and the PS3. Everything is showing up now. Rebooting also fixed pixilation I was getting initially.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tip. I was getting about 30 channels on my PS3, following your tip probably saved me a lot of time trying to figure it out.

Seems to work great. I did have my PS3 lockup on me once after going into a new channel, but it locks up on us during games anyways, so I am not sure if it is related to the HDHOMERUN. This is an awesome upgrade to the product!

Registered my tuners (6CC), loaded up the new firmware, did a channel scan, and viola, my PS3 saw about 30 channels. Given that this is a known bug, not a big deal.

Tuned into one (SD), and it looked fine. A bit of pixelation in the first few seconds while it got itself together, but looked good otherwise. It's a really good start by SD, and I look forward to future releases.
