|
|
I know I have asked about this in the past. I would just like to reiterate that it sure would be a useful thing to be able to send a reboot command to the tuners from the desktop.
Make it a stand alone thing, or a command line thing (my preference) or stick a reboot button in the setup or config gui apps.
I am not asking to be able to reboot my tuners from the internet simply within my own little network.
I know that they reboot after an update to the firmware...
I also know that you'll want to figure out if there is a problem and try and get a fix generated. This is understandable and commendable and appreciated.
But with this particular issue I get no events logged (other than missed recording events) and it happens so randomly and infrequently that enabling logging simply isn't possible (unless of course you want me to leave it enabled for weeks at a time).
I just want to be able to schedule a reboot periodically to solve my problem. I understand that a soft reboot may not work and that I might have to resort to powering them down, but with out the ability to try I/we will never know.
Please consider adding this feature. |

Hi,
After a failed recording does the HDHomeRun still respond (ie can you still watch TV)?
Or is it not discovered on the network?

I have seen two different issues with both of the HDHR's.
The first is where one or both (usually 1) become "braindead" Like the appropriate lights are on but no one is home.
The second is where again one or both (usually 1) records the appropriate time/show but what I get is just garbage not snow, not blank but colorful nothing.
In both cases rebooting resolves the problem and the only events I am logging are failed recordings (tuner failure) and that is it.
After rebooting the tuners I am gold for days or weeks. Occasionally hours but that is rare.
Just want to be able to preempt these failures by scheduling a task to reboot them periodically.
I have never seen either HDHR discovered by the network. I see the rest of my devices including the router to which they are attached but no tuners. I can get into the web interface via the IP. |
