A possebillity to set fixed ip adress til HD Homerun.
And the hd homerun software the possebillity til set this fixes ip adresse during install.
This would greatly increase flexibillity of the great product |

Hi,
The HDHomeRun supports both DHCP and AutoIP. Under normal use it is not necesary to know the IP address.
Can you please describe you network layout/configuration.

the possebillity of fixed ip makes it possible to use my HD homerun remotly.
i have a summer house which is connected to my residence with a vpn tunnel IPSEC.
and i could watch my cable in my summer residence if the ip was fixed in the program and on the hd homerun box.
network in my home 10.10.10.xxx
network in summer residence 10.12.12.xxx |

Hi,
If the VPN routing system will pass a subnet broadcast you could determine the IP address using a directed discover...
hdhomerun_config discover 10.12.12.255

| You may have the option in your DHCP server to assign a specific IP address to a specific MAC address. This is how I assign a fixed IP address to my HDHomerun. |
